Meet the Burrow

Meet the burrow! This is where I do my mentorship at Bunny Bunch. These bunnies are lovable, caring, playful animals. Hopefully, as the days pass they will get adopted. They need a lovable family to look after them. Not only do bunnies need a family but also the chinchillas and the guinea pigs.

Meet the burrow.
(This is where I'm usually at. I clean their pens and sometimes pet them.)

This is a Chinchilla.

Blog 5: Project Reflection and Working EQ

 Content:

So far, you have: completed your summer mentorship, started doing some research, maybe completed the interview and hopefully found a mentor.

Using what you have done so far, answer the following 5 questions (be specific and use examples).

The Pentagon:
(1) Positive Statement: What positive thing happen as a result of what you have completed so far?
A positive thing that has happen was finding one mentor that is willing to help me out. Also finding good information that has helped me a lot on my senior topic/project because it has given me the right information that I need, or plan to need for my EQ, but also an idea, on what I am planning on studying for my career.

 (2) EQ Content:  Pick a piece of research or your interview.  How has it helped you improve your understanding of your topic?
My interview has helped me understand so much, because it's not easy to lose an animal's life, and it's hard to take care of them, when its sick, or loosing an innocent life of a loveable animal. Also the research that I have gotten is really helpful because it gives me a producer how to take care of the small animals. It is good to know what's going on or have an idea, with the animal, cause you never what's going to happen.

 (3) What has worked for you so far in the senior project?
My research has helped me, because it has given me a better understanding on the small animals(rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas). Like before I started volunteering or looking for information on it, I thought they didn't have a lot of problems but they do, and with the all the research and the interview I have done, it has helped me understand.

(4) What hasn't worked so far?
What hasn't worked for me would be finding a good book, even though I have articles, I want to get a view on a book to see what other information is given, but I am still looking for them in my library. Also my scheduled hasn't been working for me, because I have so much things to do, but I am working on it, cause I don't want to miss any days that I signed up for, because it has happen to me, for example, last week I was supposed to go on Tuesday but I had to call and cancelled because I had tutoring which it is important to me cause I don't want to fall behind. So right now I am seeing which days are good for me, so far Saturdays are alright for now.

(5) Finding Value:
  •  What is a potential question you would like to study this year?  (working EQ)
What is the important reason to switch to a No-Kill Rescue shelter than a traditional animal shelter.
  •  What do you plan to do for mentorship?  If you haven't found a mentor yet, then discuss where you are currently looking and who you are talking to find it.
What I plan to do to for mentorship is help at the shelter with my mentor Joanne, and to be involved in a booth or an adoption day event, or any kinds of events, be involved in a activity and also to see if I am allow to give the animal their meds or at least observed seeing how they do it and why those meds. Also I plan on looking for another mentor, that Joanne has recommended me to check out(vet tech), because it will help me out in my senior project but also in my career.
