Blog 22: Senior Project Reflection

 (1) Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your Block Presentation and/or your senior project? Why?
-I am most proud of, was educating my class on my topic which is No-Kill Rescue Shelters because I noticed that my class didn't know what the No-Kill shelter was. I gave my class information on what No-Kill Rescue Shelters do differently than Traditional Shelters. I am also proud of that I made time with my lesson lecture. Also a big improvement was that I was able to present calm and take my time because I was one of those people were I got very nervous and shy and would rush through any presentation. And my senior year I change that fright of presenting to the public. I have improve to, talk loud and make eye contact and be very comfortable talking to the class.

(2) Questions to Consider

a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your Block Presentation (self-assessment)?
AE     P          AP         CR        NC
  • I will give my self an AE, because I am proud of myself, on how confident I was. I enjoyed talking to my class. Educating my class, on what I have learned throughout my 9 month project and talking about my mentorship because this helped me answer me essential question. I was very passionate with my topic because animals need help, support and a family.
 b.     What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project (self-assessment)?
AE       P          AP       CR       NC
  • I will give myself an AE because I work very hard. I work at my mentorship, I have experience what animals go through and how much help is needed. I feel good that I have seen many bunnies going home with their new family. I have completed all my components, my research checks, my first and second presentation, my interview. And I am proud of my senior project  on what I have accomplish.
(3) What worked for you in your senior project?
  • During my senior project, my mentorship helped me a lot because I got all my three answers from their. In my presentation I gave many examples using my mentorship experience. My mentor Joanne Rodriguez has help me understand my topic and also gave me advise in the future. Without my mentor, I wouldn't have strong examples on my topic or on my answers. Joanne was nice because I ask her if she can be my mentor and she said yes, once she said yes, she open many doors for me. For examples, she gave me where to look for books to have more quality research. She gave me, where I can go and talk to a vet.
(4) (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would have you done differently to improve your senior project if you could go back in time?
  • If I had a time machine, I would go back to one of my component and would of started my first independent component much earlier because there was a time where the Bunny Bunch was closed during the holiday and I thought volunteers couldn't go. I should of ask and verified my mentor if  Bunny Bunch was close. And at the end I was struggling to get my hours done but the good thing is that I did finish on time.
(5) Finding Value
How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors?   Be specific and use examples.
-My senior project was really helpful because before I started the 9 month project. I really wanted to do my project on vet tech but I couldn't find anywhere to mentorship because I needed to be a certain age. So I decided to work at the animal shelter and I ended up choosing No-Kill Rescue shelters this was really helpful because it made me realize that I do not want to pursue a career on vet tech because animal shelters usually make an appointment with the vet, to euthanize the animals. I will not put down any animal because I love them, and in future I want to support as many No-Kill Rescue shelters so that the animal has an opportunity to have a loving family.

Blog 16: Advisory Meeting #2

 Content:
EQ

What is the most important reason a person should patronize  No-kill rescue shelters over traditional shelters?
Answer #2 (Write in a complete sentence like a thesis statement)*
A consumer should patronize a no kill because it helps you understand if you are ready to be a responsible pet owner or adopt.
3 details to support the answer (a detail is a fact and an example)
  • Many people want a pet but they don't know if they are ready to have time to have some sort of activity.
  • If a consumer is about to adopt a pet, do they have the money to take care of them, to provide for them, to cover the expensive things that the pet needs.
  • Are the consumer going to have patience, with barking, training etc.
The research source (s) to support your details and answer
Concluding Sentence
Many people want pets but don't know if they are ready to be fully responsible, commitment, patience, billings of the animals. Consumers should ask themselves or should be ready to response to some questions relating to animal caring etc.

Blog 13: Lesson 2 Reflection

Content:

1. Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your Lesson 2 Presentation and why?

I am most proud of is that I made time but also that I knew one of my answer to my EQ that I work hard on. Also I liked my EQ poster.
2. Questions to Consider
       a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 2 Presentation (self-assessment)?

       I would give myself a P.

       b.     Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 2 component contract.
I used alot my reasech work. I did the p's requirements, I did 10 mins of my answer with supporting details and also I did 10 mins for my activity, also with my activity, it showed my classmates understood my lesson and they did learn on my lesson.

3. What worked for you in your Lesson 2?
My hook activity went well, it got the class interesting,  also my lesson answer worked out good, I got to talked about my experience at my mentorship how how it backed out my answer to my EQ.

4.  (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 2?
My activity went good but I should of mention to class to take notes because my activity was for them to do a poster on what they learn, I would also tell them to be prepare on time to present and to clean after them selves.
5. Finding Value
What do you think your answer #2 is going to be?
I have an idea on what my answer would be, it would be adoption manager, or if not it would be the progress on how the animal recover. It can be how different shelter are considering to become a No-kill shelter.
